I cannot think of a witty title for this blog.

Weekend update...2 days late.

Started my weekend early - Thursday night. Drove to Milwaukee to see Denn. His hotel was very nice, not much of a workout room, but it was something. Each morning, they had the usual continental breakfast food, and more. A chef cooked practically whatever you wanted - omelettes, french toast, pancakes, etc. The banana pancakes were superb.
Also, every night they had happy hour with free drinks for about 4 hours!

Seeing as it was Wisconsin and there really isn't much to do in Wisconsin, we made the most of it by doing what we do best - shopping, eating, and relaxing. Picked up some books, CDs, a pair of Pumas, took a driving tour of Milwaukee, went to Cheesecake Factory for lunch (yumm), and went to a bar/restaurant called The Safehouse, which was a spy bar with secret escapes, fake doors, and two-way mirrors. You even had to tell them a password to get inside.

Now I am back, but Denn is still there, and will be for a while...boo.

I am planning on having a party this Saturday to see my friends and family before I go to New Jersey for 3 months. I hope I have enough chairs.

Milwaukee bound.

This week is flying by! It's already almost Thursday, and after work I will go visit Denn in Milwaukee for the weekend. Sucks I will lose an hour from daylight savings on Sunday (don't forget to spring forward!)

Yes, Denn is in Milwaukee working for Court TV. He's been working for them a lot lately, going to trials in Montana, Vermont, California, Boston, NYC and everywhere in between. It really gets to a girl when her man is a traveler, but then again, I will soon become a traveler too.

But other than the downside of not seeing much of him, at least he gets to work with cool people and get me free swag. Like when he gets to produce for MTV or VH1, or like the time when he went to Japan on tour with Eminem and 50 Cent, I got some awesome swag then. Lots of Puma stuff! He even worked with my ultimate Food Network Idol - Rachael Ray recently, during a shoot with Jeff Daniels for the latest edition of her magazine (which I have a subscription to thanks to Abbie).

When we first started dating, 8 Mile was just coming out in the theater and I got to go to a private screening in E. Lansing and Eminem played a surprise concert! It was for an MTV show called Jammed! (I think that was the title...).

There are some hilarious stories too. He'll probably be mad at me for blogging this but he was driving alone in a car with Celine Dion during the auto show a couple years ago (when she was still the Chrysler spokesperson) and she busted out singing "Barbara Ann" (Ba Ba Ba, Ba Barbara Ann) so he decided to chime in during the super high part! He had a bibi gun fight with 50 Cent in a Japanese toy store (50 was probably wearing his bibi-proof vest). Kid Rock let him drive his General Lee car too which was a huge deal for Den b/c Dukes of Hazzard is his one of his all-time favorite shows.

Superbowl XL was a longggg week for him, but I got to hear good scoop on how Jessica Alba said he reminds her of her bf (should I be jealous or proud?), he was trapped on a sweaty staircase with Fergie from BEP (again, jealous or proud? lol), and how MTV VJ Vanessa wears see-through shirts. Oh yes, good swag from Superbowl XL too, and pictures directly from the field at half-time when he was shooting the Rolling Stones and I got a Superbowl XL lunchbox!

So, again, there are some highs and lows, but in the end, if we are both good to each other, it doesn't matter where we are in the world. :)

I'm sitting in the apartment of Jay and Rannie, apt. 1201, looking over the 401 highway, and Jay is sitting on the couch researching bread recipes. Rannie is asleep, probably snoring very loudly.

Let's get to the point, my trip to toronto overall: I flew solo, because Denn had to go to Montana - duty calls.

1. First, a pit stop at IKEA, didn't buy much because I don't need much!

2. Shopping at H&M, picked up 2 shirts.

3. Back at Chelle's place, she introduced me to PS2's Guitar Hero, soooo fun! However, I know how to play guitar, and that game is HARD!

4. Jay and Rannie arrive, had yummy food at The Tulip, then back to their apt. for some mad karaoke revolution (an XBox game).

5. In more geekiness, Chelle and I raided each other's iTunes for new and fresh music on the wireless network with our Apple laptops.

6. Saturday, Jay and Rannie cooked us all a very filling breakfast, and Rannie took some photos of me. He is an awesome photographer that is well-known in the Toronto area. He has done some photos of me for my music.

8. We headed to Pacific Mall, an Asian mall...weird I know...I felt like I was seriously outnumbered by Asians and that my life was in grave danger. However, I did find this cute Turtle puppet for my niece Reyna.

We stopped for snacks - Bubble Tea and Shrimp Chips...It's an Asian thing, don't ask.

7. Then, to dinner with Chelle and Jyoti, and we were supposed to go out dancing, but we figured we would make arts and crafts and watch the new Harry Potter (shh, i got a copy of it last week) and drink amaretto and coke while we played the Harry Potter drinking game, sort of. (Where you drink whenever they say Harry, Potter, or Harry Potter.)

All in all, a very fun and well-needed vacation with good friends.

This is why I need exercise.

Because I love food. Not good food. Bad food. Bad for you food.

Volleyball Friday - domination occured. All 3 games won. Donna stayed unharmed.
Our team's name is SuperVoodoo and we are (from left to right):

Spicer, Donna, Me, Aaron, Holly, Nick

I celebrated my victory with Abbs at Chili's - steak fajitas did the trick.

Step-aerobics at the Y the next morning, followed by a drive to Lifetime Fitness where Niki works and Abbie frequents. Open house day was my ticket to free fitness. Call me crazy for working out twice in one day.

Inviting The Crash had their CD release party at 5th in Novi. Good times. Rockstar and legendary Canadian Emm Gryner was present, amongst the beautiful and always talented Nik and Abbs. Much billiards were played to pass time, along with fish face photos like this one.

Sweet Lorraine's for Sunday Brunch with Emm, Denn, Sean, Paul, (not Sean Paul), and Sheevani, who does an impeccable Indian accent.

However, I found out there are TWO Chipotle restaurants in the metro Detroit area - West Bloomfield and Rochester Hills, so Denn and I high tailed it out of Sweet Lorraine's and got take-out. I'm having it for dinner tonight. WOO!

I will miss my lil mama.

Dentist appointment yesterday. That's always fun. I had to get a whole new full set of x-rays. My brain feels internally fried from the radiation, however that heavy vest feels very calming for some reason. Of course, they said I needed this done and that done, blah blah blah. It's like when you go to the auto mechanic for an oil change and they say you need a new transmission.

After the dentist, I went to see my niece Reyna, who is quite possibly the cutest thing alive. See?

I will miss her when I do my traveling. Who am I going to hug and kiss and put pom poms on my head with?

Valentines Day - a success. I think I overworked myself at the gym by running, doing legs, and kickboxing within a span of 2 hours. HUGE headache and nausea, but that didn't stop me from going out with Den to Sweet Lorraine's! That place is on par with Mongolian BBQ as my favorite restaurant. I can't get enough of it!
